ABOUT WANDER WOMAN GEAR
Launched in 2019. For the Wanderers Who Leave No Trace.
Wander Woman Gear began with long-distance hiker Jamie “Nurse Betty,” whose thousands of trail miles and one trusty pee rag carried the entire length of the 2,650-mile Pacific Crest Trail inspired her to design a reusable wipe that truly worked. After years of sewing, refining, and obsessing over the details, she created Wander Wipes: a simple, sustainable solution for people who want to care for themselves and the land.
From the start, Jamie built the brand on deep environmental values: using remnant and deadstock fabrics, shipping in recycled and compostable materials, and keeping waste out of wild spaces. Her mission was always bigger than a product. It was about respect for the outdoors, Leave No Trace ethics, and empowering women on trail.
When Jamie passed away, her close friend and fellow thru-hiker Mandy Bland stepped in to carry her vision forward. Mandy took over Wander Woman Gear to ensure Jamie’s creativity, values, and spirit of adventure would continue to ripple outward through every wipe that is made.
Today, Wander Woman Gear remains proudly women-founded, Oregon-made, and rooted in care for the planet and the people who roam it. Every Wander Wipe is crafted in honor of Jamie’s legacy and in celebration of the wild spaces she loved so much.
